My last bike was a 650 sport bike with dual front disk brakes,
the 2008 C50's is just a single front disk,
no contest here.

So I am trying for a little better, front braking action...

I was just going to change the pads to a higher friction HH material,
but I have too much pad life in the oem pads.

Decided to trying the Goodridge teflon/stainless braid/pvc jacket brake line out first.
I ordered a kit from Amazon, Goodridge part# SU3869-1FCH.

It should be here next week. I'll let you know what I think.

C-Ya,
John

Note to self: buy a bottle of brake fluid. :)

Not a bad price, anxious to hear how it works.

Braided front brake line will help, but remember this bike is a cruiser, NOT a sportbike. It even has drum brakes in the back. IMO, if you want brakes like a crotcher, you should buy a crotcher.

No, I am still waiting for it to be delivered.
So it will be next weekend, that's my plan for installing the brake line.

There is a ride today that starts at 8:30 I hope it gets to the mid 30's F Brrrrr.
[Right now it is only 29 degrees F at 7:00am]

Saturday afternoon the mail truck left the new Goodridge braided stainless brake line. [CLAP]
Today, Sunday I went for nice ride, came home, changed the engine oil, rear drive oil and installed the brake line.

Checked all the components in the kit.
The length was right, new banjo bolts, new crush washers, everything looked right.
Drained out the old brake fluid.
Un-bolted the brake hose at the master cylinder.
Snaked it down, and out to the caliper and unbolted that end.
Ripped off and saved the two rubber blocks that were on the old hose at the guide brackets.
Threaded the new hose in place added the rubber blocks at the guides.
Pinched the sheetmetal guides tighter around the rubber blocks.
Added fresh DOT 4 brake fluid.
Bleed the brakes through the bleeder and used a hand vacuum pump at the master cylinder.
Cleaned up everything and went for a ride.

Nice brake action, I believe it has a slightly firmer, more positive lever feel.
Looks cool.

Good enough!

Regards,
John
