Honda Rune-why am I amazed?

Want to talk about motorcycles that you own that aren't a C50 or a Volusia? Here's the spot for that.

Honda Rune-why am I amazed?

OK, I was stumbling around the web and found the Honda Rune. Yeah, they're older (2004 or so), but something keeps attracting me to one. The road tests are OK - nothing great. It's a limited production Honda, but something keeps me going back to look at them on line.

I guess prices were in the high $20,000 mark and now on eBay prices are about mid $15,000 (roughly). During the time this model came out, I was into a second career and starting out with my family. I didn't even know they came out - and no, I couldn't afford it new.

I'm just amazed at this machine. The lines and the boldness are captivating. The exhaust is sleek. What am I missing?

I think what your missing is owning one... Then you can bring it to RNR and I can take it for a spin... ;-) I have always been a fan just dosnt look like it would be comfortable for a long ride...

No, it's the Honda Flat-6, 1800cc that's found on the Gold Wings.

OK, I'm twitterpated (see Disney's Bambi) with this bike. If I can get one, sure, I'll be happy to share. But I have to agree - - no place for baggage to get to RNR (or any other long trips). I've been lurking in the Rune forums and reading about the machine that has me twitterpated.

I have been looking at them, chased a couple on ebay, and every time, the wife said no. Not because she didn't want me to have one, but she thinks they are just too ugly to park next to her bike and pickup. So now I am looking at a Rocket, and she says they are too ugly too, but I may make her choose between one or the other.

Is this the Rocket (Triumph) you are talking about?

It's another big one at 3 cylinders with 2,294 cc's. Price (on eBay) is about 3 to 5 thousand lower than a Rune. It also offers luggage and a rear seat. Maybe I'm not twitterpated - maybe I'm just a prostitute.

I'm looking at the touring model. so far, the only thing I don't like about it is the seat. I would also hate to have to pick it up too.

I love the front suspension.

The Runes look even bettter in person.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
I will choose a path thats clear, I will choose free will.
