Still on my first set with no complaints after 3 years but don't DARE twist the thermo to 3 and I'm guessing maxing it out to 6 would lead to a total meltdown!

Found an important clue on the Wild 1 website...

Our bars are designed to work on the vast majority of Stock HD equipment.
The HD heated grips are shallower than the OEM standard rubber grips.
You may have to trim 1/2" off left bar and so everything butts up to 1-1/4" section.
